    Weekly Update / Upcoming Events

This week we were proud to see YSPNY represented at the ASBA pre-holiday party and the CMA monthly luncheon. Both of these events were very well attended by our members.

St. Andrews Restaurant and Bar was full of ship brokers, agents and owners on Monday! Pictures from the ASBA party can be seen here.

Paddy Rogers, CEO of Euronav, spoke to a sold out crowd at the Harvard Club on Thursday. Check out the Trade Winds article here. He emphasized the difficulties of finding a buyer when you (and everyone else!) wants to "sell expensive", and also the benefits of being in a pool.

For those hesitant about making the trip from NYC, worry not! Fellow YSP-ers,

We are sure that those of you who attended yesterday's seminar sponsored by the Maritime Consortium will agree that it was incredible. YSPNY Board member Greg Chase introduced the Finance Panel, and we were pleased to see several YSPNY members in the audience. It was a unique opportunity to interact with arbitrators from both New York and London and we feel lucky to have been a part of it. We encourage anyone with an interest in the arbitration process and the SMA in general to get involved; more information can be found here.

Following the seminar, Clay Maitland and NYMAR sponsored a table for YSPNY at the SMA's dinner dance honoring Manfred Arnold and Jack Berg at the Harvard Club. Two SUNY Maritime students were able to join us, as well as several Board members and YSPNY members. You can see how much fun we had here!
