YSPNY Ambassadors are actively helping the Board in those projects aimed at growing YSPNY's physical and digital presence. Our Ambassadors' mission is to:
Eric Isaksen is an Installation Engineer for SubCom. He currently serves as a technical field assistant project manager where he coordinates and carries out the installation of subsea fiberoptic cable systems for telecommunication companies. Prior to that he sailed as a mate aboard the Research Vessel Oceanus for Oregon State University. He holds a BS in Marine Transportation from SUNY Maritime College in the Bronx, where he graduated valedictorian, as well as a U.S. Coast Third Mates Unlimited Tonnage License.
Han Deng is a senior associate in the Shipping and Transportation Group of the global law firm Reed Smith LLP. Han specializes in cross-border and domestic shipping finance. Han has experience representing major financial institutions, owners, lessors and operators in connection with debt finance transactions, including syndicated and bi-lateral secured loan facilities, ECA backed loan facilities, leasing, work-outs, debt restructurings and related collateral exercises. Han also has experience representing equity investors and other parties in cross-border and domestic corporate and commercial transactions involving shipping, including joint ventures, vessel sale and purchase, vessel construction programs, and other similar transactions, often involving New York, Delaware, Vanuatu, Liberian and Marshall Islands legal advice. Prior to joining Reed Smith in April 2016, Han worked at the Asset Finance Group in the New York office of Watson Farley & Williams LLP for 6 years and interned with Phelps Dunbar LLP in New Orleans and Ince & Co in Shanghai. Han is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
Han has been selected as a “New York Metro Rising Star” by Super Lawyers from 2014 to 2018. The list is published by Thomson Reuters.
Eli Ginsberg is an Account Manager with the Lloyd’s List Group, an Informa Company, and is responsible for clients in the Americas. He currently works with customers on optimizing development and mitigating risk by integrating maritime data through analytics and market research services. Eli previously worked as a Sale and Purchase Broker for Jacq. Pierot Jr and Sons, Inc., where he focused on dry bulk acquisitions. He holds a BA in International Relations from American University, with a focus on emerging markets.
